To create a new account in Outlook, select "Accounts" from the "Tools" menu and click the "Add" button in the resulting list.
In Thunderbird, click "Account Actions" at the bottom left of the Accounts menu and select "Add New Account."
When adding your new email account to your email program, be careful about the following:
In the "Username" field, enter your complete email address, such as me@so-and-so.com. Do not simply write "me."
In the "SMTP/Outgoing Mail Server" field, enter mail.yourdomain.com, or mail.kalfaoglu.net.
In the "POP3/IMAP/Incoming Mail Server" field, enter the same thing, or mail.kalfaoglu.net.
Account Type: If you select IMAP, your emails will always be stored on the server, where you can view, reply to, or delete them.
If you don't have internet access, you won't be able to access your emails, and if they aren't cleaned, your mailbox will fill up and you won't be able to receive new emails.
If you choose POP3, your emails will stay on your computer, your mailbox will be empty on the server, and you won't exceed your quota.
However, you should back up your emails on your computer, as if your computer is formatted, your emails will be lost.
Accessing emails from multiple devices: You can choose IMAP on your mobile phone and view recent emails there, and POP3 on your main computer; older emails will be stored on your computer.
"Secure encryption" and "Secure connection" protect you from those who might steal your password, but they can cause problems. The first time you use it, you might be warned that the certificate isn't yours; confirm it.
Check "My outgoing server requires authentication."
If you see "25" as the outgoing server (SMTP) port in the advanced settings, change it to 2525 or 587, as TTNET and many other providers block port 25. Do not change the incoming server port setting. "Leave a copy of this message in my mailbox" should not be selected -- or it should be limited to a few days. Otherwise, your mailbox will fill up and you won't be able to receive new emails.
